This week was busy as usual. I wished I had worked out more but my schedule was filled. It was SO hard to make time for yoga classes. It's usually easier for me to workout at the gym because I head over right after work and don't have to wait around for a class time. I love going to hot yoga but it's sometimes hard on my schedule because they only offer classes at certain times.
I'm really enjoying my workouts at the gym. I feel like my body has responded well to the workouts that I've created. For the past two years I haven't really worked out on a consistent basis, so I am definitely seeing some progress since starting this workout challenge.
Sooooo I'm trying this new thing out. When I go on walks, meal prep, or use the elliptical, I get really bored. Something I've been doing lately is listening to audio books. I love it! I am such a nerd but honestly, it helps so much. I like running but don't really go for long runs because I get so bored. In the fall, I am going to see if listening to audio books helps. Can't wait. :)
OMG. So I was strolling through the grocery store and I saw this drink and decided to try it. It is so good. At first, it tastes weird, but once you get used to it, it's actually a great drink. And its super good for you. Kombucha is fermented black tea. It's good for arthritis, gut health and a bunch of other things.
Typical me. This week I had a lot of protein bagels and eggs. I love these protein bagels but I think the bread is making me break out so I may have to take a break from them for a while.
I always find really cool stuff at the check out line at Trader Joe's. These rice bites are made with quinoa and cranberries. I always need good snacks for work so these are definitely good to keep handy. YUM.
For one of my meals this week I had grilled chicken, potatoes and zucchini. I love zucchini, but I'm getting so tired of chicken. I hate fish so I think I'm gonna mix it up one week with some ground turkey. Not really a fan of turkey but I guess it will change things up a bit.
Hummus and pita chips are one of my favorite snacks. I don't snack on them too often because I can literally finish it all in one sitting.
I love quest bars but sadly, if I eat too many I get a stomach ache. They take care of my sweet tooth and keep me full. They only have 1g of sugar. Whoo!
I love snacking on fruit at work. This week I had cantaloupe, strawberries, and cherries.
I recently switched jobs and for my new job, I have to get up super early. This means that I have to go to bed super early. I've been having a really hard time so I like to drink a cup of tea before I go to bed. It helps a lot. :)
Usually, I just buy the jars of coconut oil but I like these packets because I can take them anywhere. I usually take them to work and add them to my coffee. It sounds gross but you can't even taste it. It just makes me feel fuller and more energized since I don't like eating breakfast super early.
Chicken sausage is my weakness. I could eat these every week. I NEVER get tired of them. It sucks that they have a little more sodium than I would like, but it's worth it. ;)
Here is some meal prep inspiration. I made rice, zucchini, and chicken sausage. Super simple and easy since I didn't have a lot of time. I will probably have some spinach on the side as well. It's so weird, but I really enjoy eating spinach.
For the Arm workout, I used 8-pound dumbbells again. I'm still sore.
On Saturday I went on a long hike with my friend Hannah. It was such a beautiful day, only 70 outside! It was so nice to get outside and get some sunshine.
We have a lot of places to hike where I live, so I want to hike a few more trails before summer ends.
